Christmas Gift Card Appeal

Looking for ways to help in your community this festive season but not sure how?

Gift a little Christmas magic

Anchor’s wish this Christmas is to ensure that all the children, families and individuals we serve feel safe and secure and are able to enjoy a little Christmas spirit with those around them.

This year has been tough all round, our services have experienced a significant increase in demand from families we wouldn’t usually see. We have worked hard to provide additional accommodation, meals and other supports to those in need.  This year, it is more important than ever to go that little bit further and show those who need it most, that we care.  In the year of operating remotely and virtually, Anchor is embracing an on-line appeal to support the most vulnerable in our community. Give the gift of a Gift Card!

Purchase a gift card from your local store and deliver it to Anchor!  We will distribute them on your behalf to vulnerable people in our community.

What a gift card does

By purchasing a gift card, you are providing a vulnerable community member with a gift that honours their choice.  Gift cards will be handed to families, young people and individuals to purchase what they need this Christmas.  This might be Christmas gifts for their children, a Christmas ham to share with family or it might just be essential items like a phone card to round out a difficult year.

$30 gift card – may be used to purchase basic grocery items or essentials for young people and individuals.

$50 gift card – will be used to thank foster families for the amazing work they do in our community.

$100 gift card – will be shared with vulnerable families who may want to purchase Christmas presents for their children or a Christmas ham to share with family.

A Christmas tale

Every year Anchor holds a Christmas party which includes a visit from Santa, gifts for all, games and a Christmas feast. For many of our clients this is the only Christmas they have.  For this reason, the party is always a big event and is loved and met with excitement by all. As one client says:

“I look forward to the party all year!”

With the emergence of COVID-19 we will be unable to host our annual party. Whilst we will still celebrate the festive season virtually, we know that this will not be the same for many individuals and families who often don’t the opportunity to share and spend time with others over this time. It is your support and donations that will allow us to offer our clients the best Christmas we can, maintaining hope and festive spirit this season despite the challenges.

Thank you for supporting Anchor and those in need this Christmas! We wish everyone a safe and happy festive season.
