Anchor was recently awarded a $20,000 grant from Yarra Ranges Council after being invited to apply for the COVID-19 Social Recovery grant round.
During the COVID-19 lockdown all Victorians were impacted in different ways. Mental and physical health became an increasing concern and financial uncertainty placed a strain on many people, affecting their ability to afford their everyday living expenses.
Whilst some of us have been able to return to some kind of “normal”, we are aware that many of those who were already vulnerable before COVID-19 experienced even more hardship during this time and are still struggling to recover.
The COVID-19 Social Recovery Partnership aims to support individuals who were placed in short term accommodation during COVID-19 and remain unable to sustain longer term housing.
The program will run for 22 weeks, supporting 24 individuals who have multiple and complex needs with specialist case coordination support and planning to help reduce the adverse physical and mental health outcomes that followed post COVID-19 lockdowns. It is anticipated that the intensive case management that Anchor provides, will continue to support them beyond the program.
This would not be possible without the ongoing support from Yarra Ranges Council and their commitment to the recovery of the Yarra Ranges community. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Yarra Ranges Council for partnering with us to help those most vulnerable in our community.
