Myer Trivia Night

A HUGE thank you to Stephanie and the team at Myer Eastland for hosting a wonderful event last night. We loved coming along to help raise funds for Anchor and also share some of the ways we support our community.
Thanks to everyone who worked to create a fantastic experience, and each of the amazing supporters who attended. Special mention to Words by Emma for being a fabulously entertaining MC.
Thank you to the suppliers who donated over $14,500 worth of prizes! The silent and live auctions both attracted some very energetic bidding!
Everyone at Anchor feels incredibly privileged to have MYER Eastland’s behind us. Your support over the past 3 years has made a huge impact on the support we can provide to our community.
And if all of this wasn’t enough… We are proud to announce that once again MYER Eastland has signed on to work with Anchor for yet another year of fundraising and partnership! Thank you.

Homeward Bound 2019

Join us on Tuesday 30 July to raise awareness of homelessness in our community. As a proud member of the Eastern Homelessness Network we are joining with other local organisations to spread the word about the need for affordable housing in Melbourne’s east. New Youth Accommodation in Upper Yarra

We’re so excited about our latest Youth Accommodation program! Based in Upper Yarra, this place-based pilot will work with young people to connect them to local education and employment options. We’ll be linking other groups including Box Hill Institute Lilydale Lakeside, Belgravia Leisure and Cire Services Incorporated to help our tenants gain all of the life skills that will see them thrive and achieve their goals.

Working towards our vision…

Anchor recently assisted a transgender client that had been sleeping rough in the city for a number of nights.
We funded accommodation at a local motel until an appropriate crisis option could be found.
Our team worked with Stable One, advocating for our clients, and encouraging the groups to review their processes in order to be a more inclusive service to those from the LGBTIQ community.

Youth Homelessness Matters Day- Upcoming event

We are joining the Holy Fools BBQ this Wednesday to discuss the issues for young people experiencing homelessness in the Yarra Ranges. Yarra Ranges Housing Action Group would love to hear from any locals that have any questions or comments about how our community could better support our youth.

Bridget Vallence MP- Member for Evelyn

Thanks to Bridget Vallence MP- Member for Evelyn for meeting with Heidi and Mark.

We love being able to raise awareness about the needs of our community and the many ways we offer support.

Housing Support strategic goal update

We are now well into our first year of Anchor’s 2018- 2021 Strategic Plan!

Our Tiny Homes Australia project, the Rapid Response program (in conjunction with Yarra Ranges Council) and supporting Stable One, are all examples of our commitment to being a catalyst for the development of housing for vulnerable people.
Our community continues to feel the effects of limited social and affordable housing. We know that more people than ever don’t have a safe and stable place to live.
We’re looking forward to continuing our work with other organisations, businesses and individuals to find solutions to the current housing crisis.
