A safe place for young mothers

Anchor offers the Hazel Hams Homes accommodation program for single mothers (18 to 25 years old). We support young women to give them the chance to change their life trajectory, while raising their babies and young children in a safe, stable and nurturing environment.

Since the program’s opening in January 2017 we have continued to see positive outcomes for all of the young families involved. We thank our ongoing supporters that assist us to cover the costs of this independent project (as we have not received any government funding).

Lisa joined the team at Yarra Valley FM 99.1 and spoke about our Hazel Hams Homes program. We are proud to be providing an amazing opportunity to some of our community’s most vulnerable young women, and their children.

Our good friend Neal from Holy Fools has a regular program “Be the Change” every Monday at 12noon.

Sector Research Symposium at the University of Melbourne

Lauren, Heidi and Peter had the honour of being invited to speak at today’s Sector Research Symposium, hosted by the University of Melbourne. They were there informing sector professionals of the newly developed early intervention framework and community- philanthropic partnership that is set to be a game changer for young mothers in Melbourne’s Outer East.
